AHA CPR Instructor: Rick Cooper

Rick is a retired fireman who proudly served the state of Oregon for 32 years and has been an American Heart Association CPR instructor for 14 years. He has taught EMS and Fire Science at Southwestern Oregon Community College, Marshfield High School, and North Bend High School. Currently, Rick works full-time as a Public Safety Training Specialist with the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST).

Rick has a genuine love for people and a passion for teaching. His years of experience as a first responder bring a depth of knowledge to his classes—but it’s his approachable personality, engaging style, and ability to connect with students that make his training both fun and memorable.
